Bohler Avesta 904L (Austenitic Steels) Stainless Steel Stick Electrodes
A fully austenitic, rutile-coated electrode designed for welding 1.4539 / 904L type steels. It can also be used for welding 1.4404 / 316L components in situations requiring ferrite-free weld metal (e.g., in cryogenic or non-magnetic applications).
The weld metal has a very good impact toughness at low temperatures. In welding fully austenitic steels, to prevent pitting and crevice corrosion , heat input and interpass temperature should be kept low, and dilution from the base material should be minimised.
It exhibits very good resistance to general corrosion in non-oxidising environments (such as sulphuric acid and phosphoric acid) , and to chloride-containing solutions up to approximately 1000 °C . It meets the corrosion test requirements of ASTM G48 Methods A, B, and E (40 °C). Main Ingredients in air are [Ingredients not provided]. Böhler Avesta 904L is frequently preferred in various industries.
Features
- Electrode Type: Rutile-coated, fully austenitic electrode type.
-
Corrosion Resistance: “provides very good corrosion resistance in non-oxidising environments like sulphuric and phosphoric acids, as well as pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in chloride solutions.
- Special Uses: Can also be utilised for 316L/1.4404 components where a completely ferrite-free weld deposit is required.
- Welding Advice: Requires low heat input and controlled inter-pass temperatures to reduce hot-cracking risks
