Bohler Fox ASN 5-A (Austenitic Steels) Stainless Steel Stick Electrodes

Features a rutile-basic coating. It offers smoother arc characteristics, easier slag removal, and better aesthetics on both AC and DC current, for welding in highly corrosive environments. They are engineered specifically to match severe-service materials like 317L (1.4439) stainless steels, in chemical processing plants (phosphoric, sulphuric, and acetic acids), pulp and paper industries (bleaching equipment), flue gas desulphurisation (FGD) systems, & marine engineering and sour gas oilfield pipelines.

Features

  • Superior Corrosion Resistance: It delivers exceptional chemical resistance against pitting and crevice corrosion in severe chloride environments (PREN > 35).
  • Inter-granular & Stress Corrosion: Highly resistant to inter-granular corrosion at operating temperatures up to +300 °C / +400 °C and resilient against stress corrosion cracking.
  • Cryogenic Toughness: Maintains excellent Charpy V-notch (CVN) impact toughness down to –269 °C.
  • Excellent Operation ability: The rutile-basic coating yields a stable arc on both AC and DC polarity, featuring minimal spatter, smooth bead profiles, and easy slag removal
