Bohler Fox ASN 5 (Austenitic Steels) Stainless Steel Stick Electrodes
It is specifically engineered to weld high-molybdenum CrNi stainless steels (such as 317L / 1.4439) operating under severe, highly corrosive environments. Features a basic flux coating designed for exceptional weld-metal toughness, even down to cryogenic temperatures. Basic stick electrode, high-alloyed, high corrosion resistant, suited for difficult corrosion conditions. An extra-low carbon, high-molybdenum core wire paired with a specialised basic coating. This design produces an ultra-clean, highly crack-resistant weld pool with maximum low-temperature ductility
Features
- Current Type: DC+ only (Direct Current Positive).
- Re-drying: If exposed to ambient moisture, re-dry the electrodes at 250–300 °C for at least 2 hours before use.
- Interpass Temperature: Must be kept strictly below +150 °C to protect the alloy's corrosion resistance properties.
- Weaving: Keep the maximum weaving width under twice the core wire diameter to prevent micro-fissures
Technical Data
- AWS A5.4 / SFA-5.4: E317L-15 (modified) (The "-15" suffix denotes the basic coating type, running exclusively on DC+).
