Bohler Fox C 9 MV (creep Resistant) Low Alloy Steel Stick Electrodes

The Bohler FOX C 9 MV are basic coated stick electrode that produces a 9Cr-1Mo-VNb type weld metal with a martensite structure. The weld metal is suitable for applications in the tempered condition, and is approved for long-term temperatures of up to 650 ºC. The very low content of trace elements in the weld metal guarantees a Bruscato factor < 15, and the limited Mn+Ni content of < 1.2% by weight ensures that the A c1 temperature is above 780 ºC. The basic coating guarantees a low content of diffusible hydrogen in the weld metal.

Used for the joint welding of creep-resistant steels and cast steel of the same type in turbine and power plant construction as well as in the chemical industry.

Features

  • Approved for long-term use at service temperatures up to 650 °C
  • Low hydrogen content
  • Good welding characteristics in all positions except vertical down
  • Stable arc, low spattering and good slag detachability
  • Excellent striking and re-striking properties
