The Bohler Fos EAS 4 M (LF) are basic coated, high alloyed, austenitic stainless steel covered electrodes. The "LF" designation stands for Low Ferrite, indicating that this specific variant is engineered to control ferrite content tightly. It is primarily used for demanding applications requiring high resistance to severe chemical environments or cryogenic temperatures.

Features

  • Ideally suited for joining and overlaying 1.4435 / 316L stainless steel grades. 
  • Low Ferrite Design (LF): Minimises magnetic permeability and ensures optimal metallurgical performance under highly critical chemical or cryogenic settings. 
  • Basic coated, offering exceptional weld pool control, clean bead surfaces, and highly reliable impact toughness down to –196 °C. 
  • High resistance to inter-granular and wet corrosion up to +400 °
