Bohler Fox KW 10 (Ferritic Steels) Stainless Steel Stick Electrodes

E 13 B / E410-15 (mod.) type, basic-coated, low-hydrogen electrode. It offers good welding performance in all positions except vertical down welding.

Care must be taken to avoid dilution; at least two layers of filler should remain after machining, it is resistant to scaling (oxidation) up to 900 °C.

When welding similar stainless and heat-resistant chromium steels, the weld metal has a colour that matches that of the base material and can be polished to a very high lustre. Its primary application is as a hard-facing (coating) weld on the sealing surfaces of gas, water, and steam valves. It is used to provide a corrosion- and wear-resistant coating at service temperatures up to 450 °C.

Features

  • Reduces the risk of cold cracking in hardenable martensitic and ferritic structures.
  • Ensures high weld metal purity, clean bead transitions, and minimal slag inclusions.
  • 13% Chromium Matrix matches the corrosion, scaling, and thermal expansion properties of standard AISI 410 steels.
  • Retains mechanical properties and operational hardness in service temperatures up to +450 °C.
  • Resists oxidation and scaling in atmospheric conditions up to +900 °C.
  • The deposit can be machined and buffed to a high mirror finish, making it ideal for valve seating.

Technical Data

  • Exceptionally stable arc mechanics in all welding positions except vertical-down
  • DC+ Optimised
