Bohler Fox SKWAM (Ferritic Steels) Stainless Steel Stick Electrodes
This speciality consumable is primarily utilised for cladding, surfacing, and joining in specialised or extreme chemical environments. Because it generates a ferritic weld deposit fortified with molybdenum, it matches the thermal and anti-corrosive expansion profiles of 17% Chromium ferritic base metals. It is highly optimal for surfacing gas, steam, and water valve seating, join-welding equipment exposed to sulphur-bearing combustion environments, & base metal overlays to shield unalloyed carbon steels from scale and oxidation up to high temperatures.
Features
- Delivers highly stable arc control and good welding characteristics in all positions except vertical-down.
- Exclusively optimised for Direct Current Positive (DC+) welding.
- The molybdenum-fortified deposit provides low-friction anti-galling characteristics on valve seats while remaining cleanly machinable for finishing operations
Technical Data
- Classified under EN ISO 3581-A, E Z 17 Mo B 2 2
- Electrode Coating: Basic-coated core wire. This delivers exceptional low-temperature mechanical integrity.
- It is resistant to scaling up to 900°C.
- The electrode can weld ferritic stainless steels and similar alloys with up to 0.2% carbon content.
- Developed to offer excellent resistance and structural toughness profiles down to –40 °C
