Bohler Q E 308L-17 (Austenitic Steel) Stainless Steel Stick Electrodes
Bohler Q E 308L-17 are premium rutile coated austenitic stainless steel stick electrodes specially designed for high quality manual metal arc is (MMA/SMAW) welding of low-carbon 18/8 Cr-Ni stainless steels like AISI 304 and 304L. Used in the food & beverage processing vats, storage tanks, and industrial piping. Chemical & pharmaceutical: Equipment exposed to mild oxidising acids or corrosive cleaning agents. General fabrication: Architectural components, tanks, pressure vessels, and transport systems.
Features
- Core Wire Alloyed: The coating concept relies on a core wire alloyed structure, creating exceptionally uniform weld seams.
- Inter-granular Corrosion Resistance: Thanks to its low carbon profile (≤ 0.04%), carbide precipitation is strictly minimised. It remains highly resistant to inter-granular corrosion at continuous service temperatures up to +350°C.
- Superior Weldability, the rutile coating gives it an incredibly stable arc, negligible spatter, and a self-releasing (self-detaching) slag. This minimises the post-weld cleanup time and produces flat, visually striking, fine-rippled weld profiles
