Bohler Thermanit 30/40 EW (Corrosion Protection) NiCrMo alloys Stick Electrodes
Bohler Thermanit 30/40 EW are Covered electrodes, high-alloyed, nickel-base (36% Ni) for dissimilar joints, weldable on AC. Typical applications are chemical and process industries: Used for joining and surfacing matching or similar fully austenitic steels and cast steel grades containing molybdenum and copper (e.g., specialised high-alloyed or acid-resistant tanks and piping). Dissimilar welds - Applied when connecting high-alloy stainless or nickel-based components to unalloyed or low-alloy carbon steels. Corrosive media - Recommended where components face strong reducing or mixed chemical conditions requiring robust NiCrMo alloy performance.
Features
- Stable Arc & Low Spatter: Engineered for a smooth, controlled arc, which minimises post-weld cleanup time.
- Easy Slag Detachability: The slag releases cleanly, reducing the risk of slag inclusions in multi-pass welds.
- All-Position Welds: Formulated to support stable bead shaping in various welding positions, including positional pipe welding.
Technical Data
- Intercrystalline Corrosion (IC): Provides robust resistance to IC (grain boundary attack) at operating temperatures up to 450°C (842°F).
- EN ISO 14172, E NiZ (NiCr29Fe26Mo)
