Bohler UTP 387 (Joining & Repair-Stainless steels) Special application Stick Electrodes

Böhler UTP 387 are basic-coated copper-nickel (70/30 CuNi) stick electrodes designed for joining and surfacing copper-nickel alloys, high-nickel content materials, and dissimilar metal joints. Can be utilised in industries like shipbuilding (marine hardware, piping systems), offshore engineering, oil and gas, and chemical processing where seawater corrosion resistance is vital. Ideal for joining copper-nickel 70/30 alloys, overlay cladding on unalloyed steels, and specialised multi-metal transition joints.

Features

  • The electrode operates strictly on Direct Current DC+
  • Highly stable arc
  • Deep penetrating weld profile required for heavy non-ferrous joints
  • Exceptional resistance to seawater corrosion, pitting, and cavitation
  • Balanced to actively impede hot cracking
  • Finely rippled bead
  • Minimal spatter loss
  • Easy slag removal, saving extensive post-weld cleaning time

Technical Data

  • AWS A5.6: ECuNi (mod.)
  • EN ISO 17777: E Cu 7158 (CuNi30Mn2FeTi)
  • Electrode Type: Basic-coated stick electrode
  • Primary Material Focus: 70/30 Copper-Nickel alloys and dissimilar joints involving non-ferrous and steel components
