Bohler UTP 82 AS (Joining & Repair-Heat Resistant) Special Application Stick Electrodes
Thick coated stick electrode for gouging and chamfering on all steel grades with ferritic and austenitic structure, as well as cast iron. Primary uses gouging & grooving: Opening up cracks, clearing out old or faulty root runs, and gouging out surface defects, cutting & piercing: Fusion-cutting of metallic materials and profile trimming. Effective across a wide spectrum of metals, including ferritic and austenitic steels, cast iron, cast steel, and non-ferrous alloys.

- Coating: Thick/strong specialised coating that generates high gas pressure upon striking.
- Current Type: Compatible with both AC and DC power sources.
- Positions: All positional capabilities except vertical down.
- Action: Strikes easily to produce a clean, smooth groove, channel, or cut without requiring specialised air-carbon arc gouging equipment

- Not standardised (specialist proprietary maintenance/gouging formulation).
- Current Type / Polarity: DC Negative (DC-) is highly recommended for optimal cutting pressure, but it can also be run effectively on AC.
- Arc Voltage: ~50V.
