Bohler UTP 86 FN (Joining & Repair-Cast iron) Special Application Stick Electrodes
UTP 86 FN are suitable for joining and surfacing of lamellar grey cast iron GG 10 - GG 40, nodular cast iron (spheroidal cast iron) GGG 40 - GGG70 and malleable cast iron grades GTS 35 - GTS 65 as well as joining these materials with each other or with steel and cast steel. Universally applicable for repair, construction and production welding. They have excellent buttering characteristics on cast iron. The electrode has a stable arc and produces a flat seam structure without undercutting. Particularly for fillet welds an optimal seam structure is achieved (e.g. welding GGG-glanges or sockets to GGG-tubes). Due to the bimetallic core wire, the current carrying capacity and the deposition rate are excellent. The bead appearance is smooth. The weld deposit is highly crack resistant and easily machinable with cutting tools.
Features
- Exceptional electrical conductivity
- Stable arc
- Deep penetration
- High metal deposition rate without overheating the electrode
Technical Data
- AWS A5.15, ENiFe-Cl
- EN ISO 1071, E C NiFe-13
- Alloy Type: Nickel-Iron (Fe-Ni) base (~60% Ni, 37% Fe)
- High crack-resistance with a hardness range of 150–200 HB. The weld deposit provides a yield point of ~340 MPa, meaning it is significantly stronger than pure nickel electrodes but remains fully machinable with standard cutting tools
