Bohler Wearstick Dur 250 (Wear Protection Difficult to weld-Multi Purpose) Stick Electrodes
Bohler Wearstick Dur 250, 9also known as UTP maintenance brand as UTP DUR 250) are basic coated stick electrodes engineered specifically for hard-facing and build up applications. They provide tough impact resistant surfacing on components subjected to heavy rolling wear, friction and compression strain.
These electrodes are primarily used for the repair, maintenance, and lifetime extension of machinery components experiencing metal-to-metal rolling wear on crane wheels and rails, gear wheels and heavy shafts, guideways and track links. Used for build-up layers (buffer layers) before applying harder, non-machinable hard-facing topcoats.
Features
- The weld metal has a hardness of roughly 270 HB, allowing the deposited surface to be easily turned, milled, or drilled using standard cutting tools.
- Specifically engineered to absorb heavy shocks, rolling friction, and compressive loads without cracking or spalling.
- Delivers a highly crack-resistant, tough weld deposit, making it perfect for structurally demanding mechanical components.
- Functions exceptionally well as a cushioning or build-up layer on heavily worn parts before applying a highly rigid, non-machineable topcoat (like Dur 600).
- The basic flux coating ensures a highly stable arc, minimal spatter, and smooth, clean weld beads that require minimal post-weld cleanup.
- Suitable for multiple welding positions, allowing for efficient on-site maintenance and structural repairs.
Technical Data
- EN ISO 14700: E Fe1 and DIN 8555: E 1-UM-250.
- Approximately 270 HB (Brinell Hardness) as deposited.
- The deposit delivers excellent resistance to compression and deformation while remaining easily machinable with standard cutting tools
