Bohler Wearstick Dur 580 (Wear Protection Difficult to weld-Multi Purpose) Stick Electrodes

Bohler Wearstick DUR 580 (also known as UTP DUR 580) are basic coated stick electrodes for crack-proof, wear-resistant surfacing. Hardness of the weld metal approx. 58 HRC, uses on surfacing and hardfacing industrial components subject to intense abrasion, friction, and moderate impact, such as in mining, earth-moving, and crushing equipment.

Features

  • Delivers a pure weld metal hardness of approximately 58 HRC right after welding.
  • The weld deposit forms a dense, tough martensitic structure engineered to withstand heavy impact, high pressure, and severe abrasion.
  • The Basic coated stick electrode for crack-proof, wear-resistant surfacing ensures the hardfacing layer remains stable under severe thermal and mechanical stresses.
  • Features smooth arc performance with minimal spattering, facilitating a very controlled, predictable weld bead build-up.
  • These basic-coated electrodes provide easy handling and a smooth finish, and can be welded in all positions except for vertical-down.
  • Designed with advanced moisture resistance to strictly limit diffusible hydrogen levels, greatly reducing the risk of underbead cold cracking.
  • Can be reliably applied to a wide array of base metals including carbon steel, cast steel, tool steel, and high-manganese steel.
  • Capable of multi-pass building when paired with appropriate lower-hardness buffer layers (such as Wearstick Dur 250) to cushion the highly rigid top coats.

Technical Data

  • EN ISO 14700: E Z Fe8
  • Weld Metal Hardness - Approximately 58 HRC
  • Current Type - DC+ / AC
  • Alloyed with chromium (~9.5%), silicon, manganese, and iron balance, optimised for high resistance against severe abrasive wear
