Bohler Wearstick Mn18 (Wear Protection Difficult to weld-Multi Purpose) Stick Electrodes
Bohler Wearstick Mn18 is a basic-coated, high-manganese steel stick electrode designed for hardfacing and wear-resistant weld overlays exposed to severe impact and compression, typically used for rebuilding and repairing austenitic manganese steel components, track parts, crusher jaws, hammer mill parts, and railway frogs/crossings. Ideal for claddings, repairs, and build-ups on components subjected to high impact and pounding wear rather than pure sliding abrasion.
Features
- Excellent resistance to severe impact, rolling wear, and heavy compression, preventing the weld overlay from cracking, chipping, or spalling under extreme loads.
- Engineered as a basic-coated stick electrode which provides high metallurgical purity, a stable arc, and optimal structural integrity to the deposit.
- Optimised to lay down dense, crack-resistant buffer layers and build-ups that effectively absorb heavy pounding rather than pure sliding abrasion.
Technical Data
- EN ISO 14700, E Z Fe9
- The weld metal deposits at a relatively soft ~200 HB (Brinell), which allows for ease of application. Under operational impact, compressive forces, and heavy pounding, it rapidly work-hardens to ~45 HRC.
- Perfect for matching, building up, and repairing components made of 12–14% Hadfield manganese steel.
