Bohler wearstick MnCr13 (formerly known as UTP BMC) is a basic-coated, chromium-alloyed manganese steel stick electrode designed for hardfacing, cladding, and joining components exposed to extreme impact, pressure, and abrasive wear. Typical applications are in industries of mining, quarries, cement plants, railways, and steelworks. Rebuilding and regenerating high-stress working parts like breaker jaws, hammer crushers, railway switches, crossings, and excavator components. Suitable for surfacing on ferritic steels as well as austenitic high-manganese steels, and for joining hard manganese steels to themselves or other steels.
Features
- Excellent for cushioning layers before applying harder, more brittle face-welds, as well as joining high-manganese steel to carbon steels.
- Features smooth arc characteristics and good slag detachability, making it reliable for heavy structural buildup in various positions.
- Can be welded in multiple layers without the risk of the weld metal cracking or peeling off, making it ideal for restoring heavily worn parts to their original dimensions.
