The Maxstar 280 DX is a powerful combination of capability and portability. The DC TIG/Stick power sources feature an energy-efficient inverter design and Auto-Line™ technology.

This water-cooled package includes the Maxstar 280 DX TIG welder power source, 4m EuroTorch W-270 torch, a small running trolley, the Coolmate 1.3 water cooler, 2 x 3.78L low conductivity coolant, a 5m 300A ground cable and a 2m gas hose.

The Miller Maxstar 280 DX provides up to 280 amps of DC TIG and MMA welding output along with a smooth, stable arc. Advanced technologies, such as Pulse, reduce heat input, increase travel speeds and improve arc directional control. Auto-Line™ technology allows the machine to be connected to any mains voltage within the specified range. The Maxstar 280 DX addresses demands for precision fabrication, adding extended Pulse ranges for maximum DC capability. Exclusive Pro-Set™ technology eliminates guesswork by providing pre-set welding parameters.

Designed for upgrade flexibility, a memory card port allows owners to download additional software when released, purchase product features from MillerWelds.com/tig software and maximise their budgets by buying only the features they need. The Maxstar 280DX can offer air-cooled capabilities or can be used as a water-cooled system via the Cooler Power Supply (CPS), a dedicated receptacle that powers the Coolmate 1.3.

• DC TIG Features:
• Exceptionally smooth and precise arc for welding exotic materials.
• Pulse. Pulsing can increase puddle agitation, arc stability and travel speeds while reducing heat input and distortion.
• DC Stick Features:
• DIG control allows the arc characteristics to be changed for specific applications and electrodes. Lower the DIG setting for smooth running electrodes like E7018 and increase the DIG setting for stiffer, more penetrating electrodes like E6010.
• Hot Start™ adaptive control provides positive arc starts without sticking.
• Stick-Stuck detects if the electrode is stuck to the part and turns the welding output off to safely and easily remove the electrode. Menu selectable.
