Genkins GK-2500N2 Petrol Generator 2kW 230V/115V AVR

Small generator. Full-size temperament. The Genkins GK-2500N2 is a 2 kW petrol generator on an open frame, sized for the jobs where dragging out an 8 kW site machine would be an admission that you overbought. It is the unit that lives in the back of the van: enough power to run hand tools, lighting, a charger bank or a small compressor, in a package one person can lift and set down without waiting for a second pair of hands.

The right amount of power. Its rated output is 2 kW, delivered from a 212cc four-stroke engine. That is a comfortable figure for the work this class of machine is bought for — a drill, an angle grinder, a work light, a pump, or a modest stack of the same — while staying small enough to start easily and quiet enough to use without announcing itself to the whole street. It is not pretending to be a site generator, and that honesty is the point: a machine matched to the load runs better, uses less fuel and gets moved to where it is needed rather than left where it was parked.

Clean, steady output. Automatic Voltage Regulation holds the output steady as the load rises and falls, which matters more on a small generator than a large one, because the load is a bigger proportion of the total. Tools and electronics plugged into it are protected from the spikes and dips that would otherwise shorten their lives, and the machine behaves predictably instead of surging when a grinder bites. Dual 115V and 230V outputs mean both site tools and standard 230V kit run from the same unit, with no separate transformer to buy, carry or forget. A digital display reports the running state at a glance, so you know what the machine is doing without guessing from the sound of it.

Built to be moved. The 15 litre tank gives the GK-2500N2 a useful working range between refuels, and it is a tank you can fill without spilling half of it down the side. At 66 dB it is one of the quieter open-frame machines in its class, which widens where you can reasonably use it — a residential job, a market stall, a small yard — rather than restricting it to sites where noise is somebody else's problem. Recoil starting keeps the machine simple: no battery to be flat when you need it, no starter circuit to diagnose, just a pull and it runs. The open-frame layout leaves the engine and alternator accessible for servicing, and the whole unit carries a comprehensive 12-month warranty.
