Bohler Fox DMO Kb (Creep Resistant) Low Alloy Steel Stick Electrodes

The Bohler FOX DMO kb is a stick electrode with a basic coating. The weld metal produced by this electrode, which corresponds to type 0.5Mo, has a micro-structure of acicular ferrite and bainite. Thanks to its favourable mechanical properties, it is well-suited for use both in the weld condition and after heat treatment. This electrode is used in a wide range of welding applications, from joining similar heat-resistant steels and cast steels to joining high-strength structural, fine-grained, and pipeline steels. The Bohler FOX DMO kb is approved for long-term use at temperatures up to 550 °C and exhibits excellent impact toughness at temperatures below -50 °C.

Features

  • Produces highly dense, defect-free weld metal that consistently passes rigorous radio-graphic inspection.
  • Features a metal recovery rate of approximately 115%, increasing deposit efficiency and speed.
  •  Operates exceptionally well in all positions except vertical-down (PG).
  • Provides a highly smooth, directional arc with minimal spatter and easy slag removal.

Technical Data

  • EN ISO 3580-A: E Mo B 4 2 H5 | AWS A5.5: E7018-A1 H4R.
  • Approved for long-term use up to 550°C and down to -50°C.
  • Ultra-low diffusible hydrogen (HD ≤ 4–5 ml/100g), minimising cold-cracking risks.
  • Weld Recovery: Achieves high productivity with approximately 115% efficiency
