Bohler Thermanit Nicro 82 (Corrosion Protection) NiCr alloys Stick Electrodes

Covered electrode, high-alloyed, nickel-base, cryogenic (-269°C) and heat resistant up to 900°C. Stainless, heat resistant, high temperature resistant. Good toughness at subzero temperatures as low as –269 °C (–452 °F). Well suited for welding austenitic ferritic joints. No Cr-carbide zones that become brittle in the ferrite weld deposit transition zone, not even as a result of heat treatments above 300 °C (572 °F). Well suited for tough joints and surfacing on heat resistant Cr and CrNi steels and Ni-alloys. Temperature limits: 550 °C (122 °F) in sulphureous atmospheres, 900 °C max (1652 °F) for fully stressed welds. Resistant to scaling up to 1000 °C (1832 °F).

Features

  • Well suited for dissimilar joints of stainless and nickel alloys to unalloyed steels. Can also be used as buffer layers in many difficult welding applications, where the higher nickel content minimises carbon diffusion from the mild steel into the stainless material.
  • Resistant to scaling up to 1000°C. Heat-resistant with a temperature limit of 550°C in sulphur-containing atmospheres and max. 900°C for fully loaded welds.
  • Offers good impact strength and mechanical integrity down to sub-zero temperatures as low as –269 °C.
  • Prevents embrittling chromium carbide zones in the ferrite-to-weld metal transition areas during post-weld heat treatments
