In MMA (Stick) mode VRD reduces the open-circuit voltage of the inverter. When the welding machine is on, but not being used (like when you’ve just finished an electrode and need to grab a new one), the VRD kicks in and lowers the voltage to a safer level (usually around 13V).
The on demand Smart Fan diminishes noise, saves power, helps reduce energy costs, and minimises the number of contaminants being pulled through the machine.
